SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING DICOM IMAGE FOR CLIENT

PURPOSE: A system and method for managing DICOM(Digital Imaging and COmmunications in Medicine) image for a client is provided to edit an image and information without changing the original DICOM image stored in a PACS(Picture Arching Communication System) server. CONSTITUTION: In a PACS system connected to a plurality of client terminals(110_1-110_n) for inquiring and reading a DICOM image stored in a PACS server(100), the PACS server(100) changes a general control for an acquirement, a storage, and a transmission of the DICOM image. A client image managing server(120) creates a virtual client folder in the PACS server(100), stores additional information related to an image selected by a client from the original DICOM image in the virtual client folder, and transmits the original DICOM image and the additional information stored in the virtual client folder to the client terminals(110_1-110_n) by corresponding to an additional information inquiry request of the client. A communication network(150) connects the PACS server(100), the client image managing server(120), and the client terminals(110_1-110_n). The communication network(150) supports a storage, an inquiry, and a transmission of the DICOM image.
