PURPOSE: A method for analyzing and supplying a genealogy of an objected patent from a patent database is provided to analyze and supply an application genealogy and a mother patent of a certain patent rapidly. CONSTITUTION: Child patents are linked with corresponding mother patents using an extracted or designated patent numbers and patent classifications. The independent pairs are arranged in a table, and a genealogy data set is created(s10). Data pairs stored in the genealogy data set are selected(s20). The child patent and a mother patent of the selected pair are stored in a unique application number set(s30). Patent numbers in the unique application number set are selected one by one sequentially, and it is checked whether the selected patent number is identical with a child patent number in the genealogy data set. In addition, it is checked whether the selected patent number is identical with a mother patent number in the genealogy data set(s50). If the selected patent number is identical with the child patent number or the mother patent number, the corresponding pair is extracted and deleted. If new independent number is not appended in one genealogy data set, the genealogy data set is closed(s80). At this time, a corresponding family related set is closed(s90), a child patent number, which was applied at the earliest time, is stored(s100).
