<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system capable of effectively utilizing overlay data thereby eliminating unnecessary print output, and having a good user interface. <P>SOLUTION: Print job generating software on a host computer is added with a function for requesting the list of overlay data designated by an operator to a print controller in response to the list acquisition request of overlay data, and for acquiring the overlay data list, and the print controller is added with a function for transmitting the designated overlay data list in response to a request from the host computer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
