A device for joining two bones or parts of bones, has two plates (5;6) each having a lower side facing a corresponding body, an upper side and at least one respective bore (37; 38) which continues through the plate (5; 6) at an angle of 60° - 90° to the lower side for receiving a screw (8; 9; 10; 11), whereby the lower sides of the plates (5; 6) are located on a common plane (71); and the inventive device also comprises a longitudinal support (7) which is used to adjust the distance between both plates (5; 6) parallel to the common plane (71), whereby the longitudinal support (7) is connected to one of the plates (5; 6) by means of a detachably blockable joint (12).
