The foundation for the mast (1) is provided by a reinforced concrete block (2) of relatively small dimensions, set in the ground. The block is anchored by anchor cables (5) which are attached to the block and are set deep into the ground under the block. These cables are under tension, and resist any tendency of the block to tilt.
