PURPOSE: A microorganism Streptomyces sp. CBI-55 and a method for producing Cathepsin B inhibitor(CBI) derivatives using the same microorganism are provided, thereby producing high concentrated CBI derivatives because Streptomyces sp. CBI-55 does not produce CBI inactivating enzyme. CONSTITUTION: A microorganism Streptomyces sp. CBI-55(KCTC SD1009) producing Cathepsin B inhibitor(CBI) derivatives is provided, wherein Streptomyces sp. CBI-55(KCTC SD1009) is isolated by collecting various soil samples, drying the soil samples and heating them at 80 deg. C for 1 hour, culturing the samples on Bennett agar medium and culturing them at 30 deg. C for 7 days to separate colonies, culturing the separated colonies in a medium containing 1% glucose, 1% peptone, 0.34% K2HPO4, 0.1% KH2PO4, 0.1% MgSO47H2O, 0.1% NaCl and distilled water, and measuring Cathepsin B inhibiting activity to select a strain showing the excellent Cathepsin B inhibiting activity. A method for producing Cathepsin B inhibitor(CBI) derivatives comprises culturing Streptomyces sp. CBI-55(KCTC SD1009) and separating and purifying Cathepsin B inhibitor(CBI) derivative to produce CBI-55.
