<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect a mobile body while reducing a load for arithmetic processing when the mobile body is detected. <P>SOLUTION: This mobile body detector is provided with cameras 10a, 10b installed on a vehicle to image a prescribed range, a mobile body detecting means 20 for detecting other moving vehicle in a periphery of the vehicle, based on a differential processing result between the first image imaged by the cameras 10a, 10b, and the second image imaged after a prescribed lapse time counted from the imaging of the first image, and a time setting means 20 for shortening the prescribed time in accompaniment to getting close in a distance between the other moving vehicle and the own vehicle.
