<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm how many pictures should be designated in order to fill all frames in a paper sheet before print. <P>SOLUTION: The thumb nails of images stored in a storage device 12 are displayed in a list on the screen of a storage device display device. Then, an image to be printed is designated by an input device 16. A storage device 13 stores a layout icon corresponding to the number of prints per paper sheet.
