<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively support operation for a disabled person using, for example, a wheelchair. <P>SOLUTION: A scanner 107, a first display 110, and a first input device 111 are arranged in a position related to a commodity table 106 for adjacently arranging a first placing table 104 for placing a commodity before reading commodity information and a second placing table 105 for placing the commodity after reading the commodity information, and a portable terminal 151 having a second display 152 and a second input device 153 is arranged in an arranging position 139 between the first placing table 104 and the second placing table 105 in the commodity table 106 so that operation for self-checkout can be performed by using the portable terminal 151 in a state of being removed from this arranging position 139.
