PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device which is capable of compensating for a voltage drop due to a resistance portion across a cable without wasting electric power. SOLUTION: The device includes a rectifying and smoothing circuit 2, a DC-DC converter 3 attached thereto, an output voltage control 4 for controlling an output of the DC-DC converter 3, an output cable 6 for supplying the output of the DC-DC converter 3 to electronic equipment 5, and a noncontact current sensor 9 provided on the output cable 6. The current sensor 9 detects a consumed current of the electronic equipment 5 which flows through the output cable 6, which is made to serve as a control input to the output voltage control 4, thereby controlling an output of the DC-DC converter 3.
