PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially reduce the length of a coil end part, without the risk of deteriorating the insulating. SOLUTION: In a stator of a rotating electric machine in which stator coils are provided to a plurality of slots in stator cores, the two sides of a straight line are inserted into the slots disposed adjacent with stator teeth sandwiched and ends of the two sides of straight lines are respectively connected so as to laminate in a radial direction of the slot a plurality of U-shaped coils formed into a U-shape, in advance. In the stator coil for making a prescribed number of turns, coils of a half or almost a half of the prescribed number of turns are inserted into the slot through one end of the stator core. The rest of the half or almost half of coils are inserted into the slot through the other end of the stator core. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
