PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present information about an operation of an imaging apparatus to make a user accurately know the operation. SOLUTION: When an input instructor 8 instructs an image displaying LCD 15 to stop its displaying operation, as a digital still camera is set to an operation mode different from a usual standard still picture taking mode; a CPU 7 changes a set operation mode to the usual still picture taking mode as a standard setting mode, and instructs the LCD 15 to show an indication that the operation mode is changed.
