PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copying machine capable of measuring a distance between two points; the distance being not limited to a straight line. SOLUTION: The copying machine has a main control section 11 for analyzing image data read by a scanner section 10 to measure the length of data, and the main control section 11 calculates the length of bent line segments tying optional two points of the image.
