PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network-connecting apparatus and its method for realizing smooth communication between individual devices by linking private networks scattered on the Internet and using private IP addresses of each private network. SOLUTION: The network-connecting apparatus for forming a first private network has a first network device. The apparatus includes: a direct connection part 240 for providing a direct connection in response to a connection request to a second network device in a second private network from the first network device; and an address change part 250 for changing the subnet numbers of origination and destination addresses of a packet transferred outside the first private network through the direct connection.
