PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording tape cartridge which can prevent jumping-out of a leader block by falling, etc. SOLUTION: The magnetic tape cartridge is provided with a door 54 for opening and closing an aperture 35 which is held energized to a normally closing direction and through which a magnetic tape 12 passes to permit housing of the leader block 52 into the magnetic tape cartridge 10. The leader block 52 is provided with a grooved section 74 and the door 54 is provided with a projecting rail 72 movably fitting into the grooved section 74, by which the leader block 52 and the door 54 are brought into contact with each other. As a result, even if the door 54 opens momentarily in case of a fall of the magnetic tape cartridge 10, the leader block 52 exerts the perpendicular effect of some extent to the sliding direction of the door 54 and therefore the friction force is increased and the complete opening of the door 54 is prevented, by which the jumping of the leader block 52 out of the magnetic tape cartridge 10 is prevented.
