PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system enabling recognition of existence of multimedia data such as image and voice and transfer of data between a plurality of networks connected to each other through an AV gateway. SOLUTION: In the case of looking and listening delivery contents of a delivery server connected to the networks from an audio-visual terminal connected to the networks through the AV gateway device, the AV gateway device informs the delivery contents in the delivery server as own contents to the audio-visual terminal, and when the audio-visual terminal causes a request for obtaining the delivery contents to the AV gateway device, the AV gateway device obtains the delivery contents corresponding to the audio-visual terminal's request, converts the audio-visual contents into a data format receivable to the audio- visual terminal, and transmits the same to the audio-visual terminal.
