SUPERSONIC TESTING METHOD AND APPARATUS ONLY FOR ROLL

PURPOSE: A supersonic testing method and an apparatus only for a roll are provided to test the roll in three dimensions regardless of size by maintaining a medium stably to a lower portion of the roll and contacting a surface of the medium. CONSTITUTION: A medium is supplied to a testing tank by removing bubbles and restricting generation of bubbles. The testing tank is adjusted up and down and right and left to arrange a transducer on an axis of a vertical radius of a roll(100). A gap is adjusted to come near an upper end of the transducer to a roller surface contacting the medium. Three dimensional data are acquired by a C-scan on a surface contacting portion of the roll rotating at high speed. Therefore, whole surface area of the roll is tested easily and correctly regardless of size. Permeability of the medium is improved by removing bubbles in the medium.
