PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an information recording device which can prevent a display image from deteriorating in picture quality. SOLUTION: The numbers of pixels in the horizontal and vertical directions of an image represented with digital image data generated by a CCD 16 are made larger than those of its electronically zoomed image and the zoom magnification of electronic zooming carried out for the image when an image file is dubbed or the image represented by the image file is displayed on an LCD 50 is limited to the upper-limit value or less of the magnification determined by the numbers of horizontal and vertical pixels of the image represented with the digital image data generated by the CCD 16 and the numbers of horizontal and vertical pixels of its electronically zoomed image.
