<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a failed region of a failure generated in a network and to promptly inform it without enhancing functions of a line switching device. <P>SOLUTION: When a check request message from a line switching device 1M to be operated as master equipment is received by line switching devices 1A to 1K to be operated as slave equipment, check response messages including IP addresses of pieces of node equipment connected with the line switching devices 1A to 1K are returned to the line switching device 1M by using a communication system which receives the message, the IP addresses included in the check response messages are managed by every one of the line switching devices 1A to 1K by the line switching device 1M, and when the check response message can not be received from any of the line switching devices 1A to 1K, messages including the IP addresses corresponding to the line switching devices 1A to 1K and an IP addresses of node equipment connected with the master are transmitted to a monitoring device 2M as information indicating the failed region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
