PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double layer capacitor for making the body small and ensuring the cooling characteristics. SOLUTION: The electric double layer capacitor includes a capacitor cell 1 in which a laminated body made up of a plurality of positive electrodes and negative electrodes and separators is stored in a bag-shaped soft case, a capacitor module 207 in which a plurality of capacitor cells 1 arranged in a heat radiating hard case 21 are stored, and a control box 41 in which a control board 42 for charging or discharging each capacitor cell 1 is stored. The capacitor modules 20 are arranged side by side with respect to the control box 41, and a bus bar 51 is elongated over each capacitor module 20. The capacitor cell stored in each capacitor module 20 is connected in parallel through the bus bar 51. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
