PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of dust produced by a mounting member made of glass for a magnetic disk and to improve the antislip properties. SOLUTION: A spacer ring is made by fabricating a glass ring 2 which has a toric touching surface 5, inner peripheral surface 4 and outer peripheral surface 3 coming into contact with the magnetic disk and is rectangular in the vertical section of the ring, subjecting at least the touching surface 5 of the glass ring to lapping, then to an etching treatment to form a desired surface roughness and to improve the surface characteristic, and further forming a conductive film 6 on the etched rough surface.
