Methods for inhibiting proliferation and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells

The use of a compound effective to inhibit binding of leukotriene B4 to leukotriene B4 receptor in the manufacture of a medicament for decreasing proliferation of adenocarcinoma cancer cells, or of inducing apoptosis of adenocarcinoma cancer cells, or of inducing differentiation of adenocarcinoma cancer cells into non-cancerous cells. Also disclosed are compounds of formula (I) for used in the above medicaments, wherein the substituents are defined herein.
