PURPOSE: An oxygen generator is provided which is fabricated into various types for household, commercial uses and vending machines and installed at a desired place in order to discharge oxygen easily, safely and stably when user wants suction of oxygen. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for generating oxygen by chemical reaction of oxygen generating chemicals, the oxygen generator(100) comprises a main body(110) at one side of which a door is installed in such a way that the door can be opened or closed; a water supply tank(120) which is installed inside the main body, and in which water is stored; chemical storage containers which are installed inside the main body, and in which oxygen generating chemicals are stored; chemical supply means(140,150) installed at a lower part of the chemical storage containers to discharge the oxygen generating chemicals from the chemical storage containers; an oxygen generating container for providing a closed space to generate oxygen by chemically reacting water supplied from the water supply tank with the oxygen generating chemicals supplied from the chemical storage containers by the chemical supply means; a control part(180) for controlling supply of water from the water supply tank to the oxygen generating container and controlling the chemical supply means; an operating part for outputting operating signals for operating the control part; and an oxygen discharge part for discharging oxygen generated in the oxygen generating container to the outside of the main body.
