PURPOSE: A method of preparing a styptic material by extracting Notogenseng Radix in distilled water, methanol, ethanol or a mixed solvent thereof is provided. The material excellently stops bleeding. CONSTITUTION: Notogenseng Radix is fermented in lemon juice or acids such as citric acid or soaked in a solvent such as ethanol or water with a pH of 5 to 6.5. Thereafter, the extract is concentrated at 70 to 80deg.C with a centrifugal separator and a press or cooling condenser and then is spray dried at 120 to 160deg.C to produce a styptic material in the shape of powders, granules or the like.
