PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat device for a vehicle capable of restricting a rearward movement of passenger's head part and preventing a generation of an acceleration by forwardly falling an upper half part of a back rest part and preventing a generation of whiplash by relaxing an impact to the head part and a neck part in the case where a back part of the passenger is moved to the back rest part of the seat device at the time of initial stage of collision; and simply carrying out reutilization. SOLUTION: An impact force sensitive member 12 for detecting an impact force pressed and received from a back surface of the passenger is provided on a lower half part 5 of the back rest part 4. The fallable means 11 is provided between the lower half part 5 and the upper half part 7. The fallable means 11 is in the state that a coil spring 11c is compressed at the time of usual usage and restricts a rearward movement of the passenger's head part by releasing the compressed state of the coil spring 11c by acting the impact force of a predetermined value or more on the above impact force sensitive member and forcedly forwardly falling the upper half part 7 by a spring reaction force of the coil spring 11c when the vehicle is made collide.
