PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of the interlock device of a seat for vehicles and reduce its cost. SOLUTION: This seat is provided with a seating sensing member 11, which is provided on the side of a seat cushion frame 2 and generates a specified operational displacement in response to the deflection displacement attendant upon the seating of a cushion material, and an operation restricting member 15, which operates in response to the displacement of the seating sensing member 11 for operation to restrict the proper operation of a seat side mechanism 20. In this constitution, the operation of the seat side lock mechanism 20 is restricted by detecting the seating of an occupant on the cushion material mechanically as a displacement of the seating sensing member 11 and operating the operation restricting member 15 mechanically by the operational displacement of the seating sensing member 11. Compared with the structure in which the operation of the seat side mechanism 20 is restricted electrically or electronically, therefore, the structure can be simplified more and made at a lower cost and in its turn, can provide a highly safe seat in use for vehicles and at a low cost.
