PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injector that generates only slight noise and suppresses fluctuation in fuel injection quantity. SOLUTION: An injection valve member 28 and a control piston 50 are movable in an opening direction 29 when a control valve 70 is opened. An opening movement of the injection valve member 28 and control piston 50 is limited only on the basis of a pressure rise in a control pressure chamber 50 by closure of the control valve 70.
