PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the false detection of abnormality in an ozone generator even when operating under the condition of a small input power of an inverter. SOLUTION: In an ozone generating apparatus composed of an ozone generator 1, an inverter 2 and a transformer 3, both input power signal and output current signal of the inverter 2 are connected to a control device 4, and there is incorporated a logical expression which determines the output current of the inverter 2 exceeding a specified value to be abnormal when the input power thereof is below a specified value. Thereby, since the abnormality of the ozone generator 1 is detected as far as the generator is operated in the output current exceeding the specified value, the false detection of abnormality in the generator 1 can be prevented even when operating under the condition of a small input power of the inverter 2.
