<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite writing instrument, which can advance a sliding body without making a protruded part for advancing the sliding body provided in the sliding body and enables a locking part of the sliding body to be locked to a part-to-be-locked of a sliding case. <P>SOLUTION: A sliding piece having a leg part is formed. An engaging groove is formed in the leg part. The sliding piece is slidably arranged by engaging the engaging groove with an edge of the longitudinal side wall of the sliding groove which is formed in the sliding case or an edge of the longitudinal side wall of a window part which is provided in the outer peripheral surface of a barrel covering the sliding case and faces the sliding groove of the sliding case. The leg part is loosely fitted into a hole part which is provided in the sliding body.
