<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce abnormal images which occur due to discharge products generated by a discharging operation of an electrifying member, in an image forming apparatus which applies voltage to the electrifying member disposed opposite an image carrier, causes discharge between the electrifying member and the image carrier to electrify the image carrier, exposes the electrified surface to light, develops a toner image, and transfers the toner image to a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The rotation of the image carrier 40 is stopped after voltage supply to the electrifying member is turned off. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
