<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device with a brushless motor capable of preventing deterioration of control performance even when a microcomputer with low operation speed is used for a motor control unit, and a control method for it. <P>SOLUTION: This electric power steering device has a brushless motor 19, a steering torque detection unit 20, a target current setting unit 31, motor current detecting parts 35, 36, a motor rotation angle detection unit 23, deviation calculation units 41 and 43 for calculating deviation signals between target current and motor current, and a motor control unit 32. The motor control unit has a first control element (PI control by feedback from motor current signals) and a second control element (drive control of the motor based on an electric angle), and a cycle of control by the first control element is set longer than that of control by the second control element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
