PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal pump wherein reduction in the pump efficiency is prevented by preventing a stay of fluid. SOLUTION: The open impeller type centrifugal pump has a pump blade 12 connected to a tip part of a rotary shaft 8 via a blade boss 10, a casing 14 connected to an end part of a pump base part 6, and forming a fluid chamber R by surrounding the pump blade, an inflow port 16, and an outflow port 18 arranged in the casing. The pump blade is composed of pump blades 12a to 12c, and straightening plates 20a to 20c are integrally arranged. The straightening plates straighten a part of the fluid flowed in from the inflow port 16 as a downward flow in the axial direction of the rotary shaft 8. The fluid flowed along the straightening plates becomes a centrifugal directional flow turning toward the outer peripheral side from the inner peripheral side in clearance S between the pump base part and an under surface of the pump blade.
