PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-quality detector for properly shaking off a suspended substance in a specimen liquid stuck to, and accumulated on, a part near a detection end of a detection part without making a cylindrical holder long. SOLUTION: The detection part 7 for measuring a water quality of the specimen liquid flowing in a water channel is held by a tip 8a of the cylindrical holder 8 so as to be immersed in the specimen liquid 1 in the water channel. The cylindrical holder 8 is held by a conical spring 15 formed in such a way that its top has a small diameter in an installation part 14, and that its foot has a large diameter. The large-diameter foot of the conical spring 15 is fixed to the surface on the ground of the installation part 14, and a rear end 8b of the cylindrical holder 8 in the small-diameter top part of the conical spring 15 is held in the upper part of the surface on the ground of the installation part 14.
