PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt fixing device which can prevent the coiling round tendency of a fixing belt spread on a plurality of rolls, and can suppress the wrinkling of the belt caused by thermal shrinkage accompanying heating and cooling and which can obtain a uniform color image having excellent glossiness when a recording medium is released from the belt. SOLUTION: The belt fixing device includes a first and second drive rolls 71 and 72 which are rotationally driven, the rotating endless fixing belt 70 spread on a plurality of rotating rolls 71, 72 and 73 including the first and second drive rolls, and a cooling member 76 which is provided between the first drive roll 71 and one rotating roll 72 adjacent to a downstream side in the rotating direction of the fixing belt 70 from the first drive roll 71, and cools the fixing belt 70 from the inside.
