The sleeve-shaped housing (I) contains a writing-lead, an axially movable printer between which lead and housing is a spiral spring. The printer has an axially extending, elastically flexible selector shaft with at least one control cam (6,Z) protruding radially from the shaft. A gear-shifting gate has arms (10,11,12;21) protruding inwards from the sleeve's inner surface. Two axially spaced apart arms intersect at a slant the forward or backward path of the control cam or a center plane through the lengthwise path (15). The selector shaft is deflected to one peripheral side (III) in a forward thrust movement, and to the other peripheral side (IV) in a backward thrust movement.
