The invention relates to a lamp for the exterior with at least one fluorescent tube (2) and a thermal protective tube (1) of light-transmitting material, and also a corresponding thermal protective tube (1) for such a lamp. To provide a lamp which also offers sufficient light at low external temperatures without having to use expensive fluorescent tubes (2) or having to use expensive means for thermal protection, it is provided that the thermal protective tube (1) has in the longitudinal direction a slot (3) for receiving the fluorescent tube (2) and connecting elements for fastening the thermal protective tube (1) to the fluorescent tube (2), the thermal protective tube (1) being made elastic transversely to the slot (3).
