PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a grain size and a number concentration of an equilibrium water drop, using three cloud chambers different in degrees of supersaturations to derive a highly precise supersaturation spectrum of a cloud particle nucleus. SOLUTION: This method/instrument is provided, in measurement of the cloud particle nucleus of the low supersaturation, with the three cloud chambers 1, 11, 21 different in the degrees of supersaturations, water drop scattering intensity detectors 2, 12, 22 for the respective three cloud chambers 1, 11, 21, temperature measuring and controlling controller 3, 13, 23 for both walls of the three cloud chambers 1, 11, 21, pulse height analyzers 4, 14, 24 for measuring the grain size and the number concentration of the water drop, based on information from the respective water drop scattering intensity detectors 2, 12, 22, an aerosol counter 31, and a computer 41 for collection-recording continuously information from the pulse height analyzers 4, 14, 24 and the aerosol counter 31.
