PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic transducer made uniform in characteristic with a simple shield structure, and to provide an ultrasonic flowmeter for measuring flow rate with high accuracy and safely by using the ultrasonic transducer. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic flowmeter has a piezoelectric body 8 used to transmit and receive ultrasonic pulses on a pair of mutually opposed electrode faces 8a, 8b, and is constituted by attaching the ultrasonic transducer 3 sealed with a seal member 11 to a flow channel 1 in which a combustible fluid to be measured flows, and so that at least the electrode face 8a on one side is shielded from the combustible fluid to be measured.
