PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wrapping paper for smoking treatment, suitable for a smoking treatment of a food material such as a livestock product such as a hum, a sausage, a bacon and meat, a milk product such as cheese, processed fishery food products of various kinds of fishes and shellfishes, and an egg product, and having smoking properties, releasable properties and oil resistance. SOLUTION: This wrapping paper for the smoking treatment is a high-density oil-resistant paper having a releasable silicone-based resin layer, and the high- density oil-resistant paper has 4,000-10,000 g/m<SP>2</SP>-24 hr moisture permeability measured by the method of JIS-Z0208.
