PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressed data processor and method capable of reducing the burden on a processing and increasing the speed of the processing and a compressed data processing method. SOLUTION: A multitrack expander 30 has a compressed data reading section 31, expansion processing sections 34, 35 and 37, and a synthesis processing section 36. When two pieces of the MPEG1 audio shaped compressed speech data are read into the reading section 31, the partial expansion processing up to the reverse normalization processing is performed respectively for the same by the processing sections 34 and 35. Two pieces of the intermediate data obtained in such a manner are subjected to the synthesis processing by the processing section 36 and the intermediate data after the synthesis is subjected to the frequency inverse processing and windowing processing, by which the non-compressed speech data is formed.
