PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to recognize an icon having no positional data corresponding to map information. SOLUTION: A map information display device 100 contains: a storage device 104 for storing information including the basic data and positional data of the icon; and a control device 106 for controlling a display device 102 so as to calculate coordinate data by using the positional data and display the icon by superposing the icon either on a map area 120 to display the icon and map information on the basis of the calculated coordinate data or on an icon area 122 for displaying only the icon.
