PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiograph reader provided with an attractive holding means for not only preventing slip or positional deviation of a cassette at the time of carrying but also allowing the cassette to be easily torn off and to provide a radiograph read system having the same. SOLUTION: The radiograph reader is provided with a plate-like magnet 54 for attractively holding a part of the cassette having a stimulable phosphor sheet stored therein by magnetic force and a driving means for moving back and forth the plate-like magnet 54 in a prescribed direction, and with respect to the plate-like magnet 54, magnetic fluxes extended in a direction approximately rectangular to the prescribed direction are arranged at intervals of 0.01 to 5 mm in the prescribed direction. In the radiograph read system having the radiograph reader and the cassette, the cassette is provided with a steel plate having 50 to 150μm thickness, which is a magnetic body to be attracted by the plate-like magnet 54.
