PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase of the intake or outlet pressure higher than a prescribed value by a relatively simple structure. SOLUTION: The vane pump comprises left and right came rings 31L and 31R, left and right rotors 35L and 35R disposed rotatably inside the internal space of the cam rings, and a vane 41 disposed movably in the radial direction in a vane groove 35a formed on the outer surface of each rotor. The vane pump performs the intake and discharge of a fluid by changing the volume of a first pump space 40R(1) and a second pump space 40R(2) divided by the vane 41 according to the rotation of the rotors. The vane pump also has an energizing pressure introducing pathway (a communication hole h1, a communication groove g1 and a communication hole h2) for guiding the discharge pressure into a bottom space 35c of the vane groove for energizing the vane in the outer peripheral direction, and hydraulic limiting devices 90L and 90R for closing the energizing pressure introducing pathway when the pressure of the fluid on the high pressure side is a prescribed value or higher.
