A clamping system for the front forks of a bicycle has the forks held by a tube located into a fixed sleeve (30) at the front of the main frame. The top of the sleeve is fitted with a ball race which is protected by a shaped cover ring (23) secured by a spanner using grip flats at the top of the ring. A sealing ring (24) is threaded onto the top of the clamping ring and with a seal to secure the fitting against ingress of water and dirt as well as providing a secure mounting for the forks and handlebars.
