<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the presence of a fitted option cassette with a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 111 determines the presence of the fitted option cassette. If transfer paper sensors 613, 623, 633 detects storage of transfer paper, the CPU 111 determines it as the option cassette having been fitted. If the absence of the transfer paper is detected, the CPU 111 determines it as the option cassette having not been fitted.
