<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyhedron micrographite which is a new graphite sphere having a polyhedral structure and its producing method. <P>SOLUTION: The polyhedron micrographite has a substantial skeleton which is a tetradecahedron formed by six quadrangular faces 2 obtained by cutting and removing the six apex angles of an octahedron formed by the mutual connection of the ridges of the triangular faces and eight hexagonal faces 3. The producing method involves a step to melt a carbon-supersaturated Ni-C base alloy, a step to coagurate the melt by adding Bi and a step to separate the polyhedron by dissolving the coagulation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
