<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information adder of a printer interface in which a function additional to the essential functions can be operated without modifying the design of a printer itself. <P>SOLUTION: When controlling a printer 5 connected with a host computer 1 through a Centronics interface, extra information is added to information being transmitted from the printer 5 to the host computer 1 where the extra information is processed as the control information of the printer 5. The operation is carried out through an information adder 4 of a printer interface disposed between the host computer 1 and the printer 5, and means for processing the extra information from the information adder 4 through the host computer 1 as the control information of the printer 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
