<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording method by which a full color image printing body with high image quality can be printed by one time heat application of a line thermal printing head by a printer with a simple mechanism without wasting an ink ribbon, printing time can be shortened, and a large areal image can be easily printed, a thermal transfer recording medium, and an image printing body. <P>SOLUTION: The method is characterized in that the thermal transfer recording medium in which at least area patterns of heat-sublimable ink layers of yellow, magenta, and cyan are repeatedly provided on one face of a base material to the direction of printing operation and to the perpendicular direction of the printing operation of the thermal transfer recording medium by integer times of respective sizes in the direction of the printing operation and in the perpendicular direction of the printing operation of a heating element of the line thermal printing head and a body to be transferred are held between the line thermal printing head and a platen roller, and dyes in the heat sublimable ink layers are transferred in a dot form to the body to be transferred by one time heat application of the line thermal printing head. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
