<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the lowering of density and irregular pitch are caused by a situation that the distance between a developing sleeve and a photoreceptor cannot be kept constant when toner leaks in a constitution where the toner is easily leaked, and also that harmful influence that faulty cleaning and the soiling of the end of a developer carrier are accelerated is caused, and the wire of an electrifier is soiled and such soiling appears as the unevenness of an image as it is. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device is equipped with a magnetic sealing member for preventing developer from leaking to the end of the developer carrier. The magnetic sealing member has a notch on the inside of a part opposed to the downstream developer carrier in the rotating direction of the developer carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
