PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigeration unit for a train container which fully exhibits the condensing capacity of a condenser by preventing exhaust air of high temperature exhausted from the condenser, from being sucked again by a short circuit into a space between the containers which becomes a negative pressure region during the travel of a train. SOLUTION: This refrigeration unit for the train container transported being loaded on a freight car for railroad transportation is provided with an internal combustion engine 41 serving as a drive source, and a refrigerating unit 30 provided with a condenser 33 and an evaporator 31 provided with a condenser fan 34 and an evaporator fan 32 respectively. The refrigerating unit 30 is arranged at the end side wall surface outer upper part of the train container 1, and an exhaust air passage 35 is provided for allowing exhaust air from the condenser 33 to flow out to the atmosphere from the roof side above the train container 1.
